Peenemunde German Test Area |
| As the war swung against Germany, Hitler placed increasing faith in secret weapons or 'Vergeltungswaffe', reprisal weapons. In late 1942 the Secret Intelligence Service received reports about a new rocket. The reports linked the rocket with Peenemunde, where a number of German experimental and test facilities were sited next to the Baltic Sea. |
